Sunrise Medical Updates Popular Zippie Voyage®

FRESNO, Calif., September 12, 2016 — Today, Sunrise Medical leaders announced a newly designed modular universal interface for the Zippie Voyage® pediatric early intervention device. The intuitive and easy-to-use Zippie Voyage, originally developed in collaboration with Baby Jogger, now includes the Slide-N-Lock plate. Now, both seating options (Voyage Moderate Seating or Voyage Advanced Seating) can be effortlessly interchanged between a stroller base, the Zippie Hi-Lo booster base, and the new JCM Hi-Lo activity booster base.

The updated Voyage builds upon Zippie's 25-year legacy as a developer of groundbreaking solutions for pediatric mobility with a host of intuitive features, functionality, and an aesthetically pleasing and approachable design. Whether equipped with Voyage Moderate Seating for children requiring modest positioning, or Voyage Advanced Seating for more complex positioning with greater adjustability and customization for pelvic stability, trunk and head alignment, the Voyage delivers the convenience and style of a Baby Jogger and the support and reliability of a Zippie.

"The Zippie Voyage has been incredibly well received since its introduction in 2013," said Christy Clover, Sunrise Medical Associate Product Manager, Pediatrics. "With the addition of the new sleek moderate seating option with the Slide-N-Lock interface, it will bring comfort and stability as well as ease of use to new heights."

Pete Coburn, Sunrise Medical President, U.S. Commercial Operations, called the new Slide-N-Lock plate a significant enhancement to the Zippie Voyage family that enables the Voyage seating to tilt and recline while connected to stroller or booster bases.

"The Slide-N-Lock universal interface improves upon an already remarkably well designed Zippie Voyage," said Coburn. "Together with the JCM Hi-Lo activity booster base, the Voyage enables children to more fully explore their environment and engage in activities at the table or on the floor, all while maintaining the critical support of their Voyage seating and positioning."

The new Voyage retains all the design and feature benefits that made the original popular with parents. With Baby Jogger's patented Quick-Fold Technology, the Voyage folds into a compact package in one simple motion. Puncture-resistant rear wheels and swivel front wheels with suspension keep the child comfortable and calm during town and trail strolls. And every Voyage includes quick access wheel locks, telescoping push handles, a canopy with mesh window, and an under seat carry-all storage basket. For families using public transportation, the Voyage is also transit approved up to 75 lbs.

With both Moderate and Advanced Seating available, the Voyage features cushions, backs, and positioning components that offer extensive adjustability to keep up with the rapid growth of newborns and toddlers. Multiple options for foam softness, foam thickness and head, hip, thigh, and trunk supports help create a custom combination tailored for every child's unique positioning needs. Adjustments to positioning components can be easily made from behind the backrest while the child remains seated.
