FRESNO, Calif., January 21, 2020 – Today, Sunrise Medical announced the launch of the QUICKIE Q700®-UP M standing wheelchair. QUICKIE leveraged the benefits of the Q700 M mid-wheel drive base and the innovative SEDEO ERGO seating system with the power to stand. The personalized configurations with the QUICKIE Q700-UP M, coupled with the ability to change positions from sitting to standing, can have a positive impact on a wheelchair user's health and wellness.

Industry whitepapers from Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA) and National Coalition for Assistive and Rehab Technology (NCART) support the position that wheelchair standing devices are medically beneficial for wheelchair users by enabling them to reach, improve Activities of Daily Life (ADLs), maintain vital organ capacity, and potentially reduce the occurrence of pressure sores. Standing devices enhance client independence and can enhance psychosocial well-being.

The QUICKIE Q700-UP M power wheelchair is uniquely designed with SpiderTrac® 2.0 Suspension, Biometric Repositioning, and reliable 4-pole QUICKIE motors to provide the highest performance and most intelligent seating technology of all our QUICKIE power wheelchairs. The Q700 M base is combined with our new biomechanical standing seating system. This means the client can stand at up to 77° providing many health and lifestyle benefits in addition to greater independence.

There are up to six programmable memory positions with the QUICKIE Q700-UP M providing the client access to their most commonly used positions with the touch of a button.

"The facts are out there: standing can improve circulation, reduce the occurrence of pressure injuries, and many day-to-day tasks that someone in a wheelchair might not otherwise be able to do. Thus we found it imperative that standing technology be readily available in a mid-wheel drive Group 3 power wheelchair," said Jeff Rogers, Director of Power Product Management.
