The DriveStation is an ergonomic handheld proportional device adapted for use as an alternative drive control. The DriveStation takes an existing controller and converts its commands into signals that the wheelchair electronics understand in order to drive the chair or control other chair functions. Four specific seating configuration programs allow for personalization to better fit the user's needs.
It is ideal for use by pediatric patients: the DriveStation allows for easy access for clients already accustomed to operating game controllers. The DriveStation allows both proportional and switched driving. The joystick knobs may be used for proportional control while the action and/or directional pad buttons can be used for switched driving control.
